The Lismore Lantern Parade’s theme this year is “Bee the change …” as a part of the festival we will be curating a multi-media art exhibition by local and regional artists.

 

We are looking for your sweet-as-honey artworks; the ones that make us warm & fuzzy, the ones that have a stinging political message, the ones that bee-dazzle us. We want art inspired by the humble bee and beyond. Paintings, drawings, photographs, sculpture, jewellery…bee imaginative!

Applications are invited from all creative bees, all ages, amateur or professional, beginner or experienced. The aim is to exhibit a diversity of styles and techniques, celebrating the fabulous bumblebee. The curator’s decision will be final. Successful Applicants will pay an entry fee of $5 to cover admin & hanging costs and artwork is to be delivered to the gallery by 31 May, 2020.

terms and conditions

  1. All Things Bee-autiful Exhibition is open to Australian residents.

  2. If the artwork is a collaborative effort or community group piece, all artists must be acknowledged.

  3. Artworks submitted must be the artist’s original work.

  4. Multi-panel pieces are accepted and are regarded as one work

  5. The decision of the curation team is final.

  6. Entries for pre-selection are to be entered online, and will consist of:
    a. Complete online registration form on this website.
    b. 3 to 5 images of artwork to be included for exhibition or are indicative of the work you wish to exhibit. Images at 300dpi and up to 2MB each please.
    c. A $5 entry fee payable when artwork delivered.

  7. The entry fee is non-refundable.

  8. Expressions of Interest must be received by LightnUp Inc by 12am Tuesday 28 April 2020. Late entries will not be accepted.

  9. All artists will be notified of the pre-selection outcome by Friday 8 May 2020.

  10. Finalist artworks selected for exhibition must be available for continuous display at the Gallery for the entire period of the exhibition (18 - 21 June 2020).

  11. The All things bee-autiful Exhibition is open to any media and to 2 and 3-dimensional works. Works must be ready for display at the time of delivery. Any exceptional hanging requirements will be at the cost of the artist (if works require materials or equipment not currently at the gallery).

  12. It is the artist’s responsibility to inform LightnUp Inc of any special installation requirements. Please include installation instructions and/or contact the curators if this is the case.

  13. All framed works must be fitted with D-rings for hanging (attached to the back of the artwork, approximately 10cms from the top).

  14. Works must be clearly labelled with the artist’s name, address and the artwork title.

  15. Audio visual works are eligible for entry.

  16. LightnUp Inc reserves the right to reject any works that may be unsafe to the public, staff or to the Gallery building.

  17. LightnUp Inc has the right to refuse to display any entry.

  18. It is intended that all the artworks will be displayed in an exhibition at Lismore Regional Gallery. Should space prevent the display of work, LightnUp Inc will advise the artist.

  19. If the artwork is for sale, the artist price must be clearly noted on the entry form. If you are registered for GST please include in the artist price. The Gallery will then add commission of 25%. Once stated, the artist price cannot be changed.

  20. All care will be taken when handling and hanging the works included in the exhibition, however, the Gallery and/or LightnUp Inc is not responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever or however caused to any work while in its custody. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist.

  21. Artwork for exhibition must be delivered to Lismore Regional Gallery between Thursday 28 May – Saturday 30 May 2020 (during opening hours):
    Thursday 10am – 6pm
    Friday 10am – 4pm
    Saturday 10am – 4pm

  22. After the exhibition’s closure, artworks must be collected between Wednesday 24 – Friday 26 June 2020 (during regular opening hours)

  23. The freight of the work is the responsibility of the artist. Artworks will not be accepted unless delivered and returned free of all freight and other charges.

  24. If an artist fails to collect the work from the Gallery, LightnUp Inc may sell, destroy, or otherwise dispose of the work in such a manner as is deemed fit by LightnUp Inc (once LightnUp Inc has made all reasonable efforts to contact the artist).

  25. As part of the exhibition, entrants will give permission to Lismore Regional Gallery and/or LightnUp Inc to reproduce their artwork for the purpose of advertising and overall promotion relating to the exhibition.
