The Enchanted windows project is about working in partnership with local businesses to create wonderful window displays to captivate interest, build awareness and showcase the creative energy of Lismore to the thousands of people who come and visit the Lantern Parade.

In 2020 Lismore Lantern Parade’s  Enchanted Windows project will be free to register and include opportunities to participate in free visual merchandising workshops with regional artist and visual merchandiser Martin Pedder. With many years of creative innovation, with a quirky bent, Martin will provide free training thanks to support from the Lismore Business Support Program.

Lismore Lantern Parade invites Lismore businesses to decorate their shop front windows with lanterns, lights, projections and props to this year's festival themes “Bee the change ….” Or all things Bee-ish. The windows must be on display the week leading up to the festival from Monday 9 to 20 November 2020. Participating businesses can choose to display a small lantern with LED candle for their window (while stocks last) plus a poster identifying the business in the Enchanted Window People's Choice Award to be voted by the public through an online voting app. The winner will receive a fabulous prize (to be announced shortly).

A dedicated map will be produced highlighting participating businesses and will be promoted through social media, our dedicated website and the printed event program. The winner will also be featured in the Northern Star and the Lismore Echo after the event.

  • Participating windows must include lanterns, fairy lights or projections (at least one).

  • LightnUp Inc will supply one small lantern with LED candles, additional lanterns can be hired but there will be a limited supply and will be available on a first in first served basis.

  • The small lantern and any additional hired will be delivered to participating businesses by Wednesday 4 November or by arrangement, and collected on Monday 30 November.

  • Businesses are responsible for the care of lanterns supplied.

  • LightnUp will provide Lantern Parade posters and flyers.

  • Windows are to be displayed from Monday 9 November to Friday 27 November.

Martin Pedder will be providing wonderful tips and tricks to help you create your very own window displays and installations plus photography and styling for social media. The two-hour workshop will be run over three days to provide different days and times for businesses and will be held at the Gordon Pavilion. Date and times for the workshop will be:

  • Thursday 4 June, 5.30pm - 7.30pm

  • Friday 5 June, 7am - 9am

  • Friday 5 June, 5.30pm - 7.30pm

  • Saturday 6 June, 7am - 9am
