February and March this year saw Lismore  and the Northern Rivers devastated by the most catastrophic floods the region has seen in recorded history. 

 

The Lismore community has lost so much. We hope the Lantern Parade and the market deLight will bring a little joy and light into our lives as we work towards our healing.

 

The festival would like to offer Lismore businesses the opportunity to set up a Pop Up Shop at the Market deLight, priority will be given to local stall holders and all 2480 stalls fees are discounted. Other areas can be supported by negotiation.

 

 

2022 sees the Lismore Lantern Parade celebrate 28 years of bringing light to the heart of our community. Many of this year’s participants and audience were probably in strollers or school themselves at the first parade.Together we have created a wonderful inter-generational heritage, fostering a strong resilient community celebrating together. Our annual event is rich and deep within many people's hearts.

 

In 2019 we celebrated our 25th anniversary, thousands and thousands of people lined the streets and cheered the parade as it danced along. What a wonderful night!.

 

The last few years for our organisation have been challenging, last year we went to a new venue, this year we return to the streets of our beloved CBD. Although the atmosphere may be a little different, we envision the night will bring 1000’s to the heart of the city to come together as a region and celebrate our strong connected hearts.

 

The combination of fires, Covid 19 and the floods have wreaked havoc on our community on many levels. And in order to support our CBD traders who have been impacted by this catastrophe and local  stallholders who make, bake, grow or produce their own wares locally will be given priority.

 

We are  excited to be coming back on 25th June 2022 

 

LightnUp Inc warmly invites you to participate as a stallholder or as a community group in this year’s fabulous Market deLight showcasing the best, unique and yummiest of the Northern Rivers’ fare. 
 

LOCATION-WHERE THE EVENT WILL BE HELD

This year the  parade  itself will be returning to the CBD - bringing energy and light to the heart of our city.

The Market deLight activities will focus on the ‘heart’ of the city in Carrington Street and Magellan Street - featuring traditional market stalls, with ‘pop up shops’ from local businesses affected by the floods. There will be activities for kids and entertainment from the HeartBeats stage.

 

The Fiery Finale is planned to take place in John Crowther Car Park where we will invite community organisations to provide hot food as a part of our Winter Warmers

 

Please note. We will follow NSW Health Public Health Orders regarding COVID restriction, if any. We strongly recommend the use of masks and safe hygiene practices.

 

TRADING TIMES

The day will begin at 12pm, and conclude at 8.30pm, the site will have adequate space to create some beautiful areas for stallholders to trade. Winter Warmers will trade between 4pm and 8pm
 

BUMPING INTO THE EVENT

Stallholders can access the site from 7am on the Saturday morning via the entry point where your stall will be located, further details will be sent once your stall has been accepted. Bumping out from 8.30pm

 

APPLICATIONS

First round applications close at Midnight on 29th May 2022

Offers for positions at Market DeLight 2022 will be made by a selection process, your offer will come via email.

A payment invoice will be included in your site offer.

Please ensure this invoice is paid in full by the due date on the invoice to secure your spot at Market delLight. 

We apologise for the short time frames, things are all a bit tricky this year, we are doing our best!!
 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

Environmental friendly packaging no straws or plastic bags please

Your own marquee, weights for each leg and pegs

Your own tables, chairs and other equipment for your comfort and stall

Your own float

Your own lighting, solar or battery lights are recommended to be used for non food stalls-we really encourage you to decorate and light up your stall with beautiful lights, banners, flags, flowers.

Copy of your insurance/s 

Lismore City Council Food Licence if applicable

Covid Safe Plans if applicable

Hand Sanitiser + Covid Safe Distancing Posters for your stall and staff to use

Face masks are encouraged

Tested and Tagged electrical cords/boards (if using mains power or generator)

Commercial cooking equipment and appropriate fire equipment (if applicable)

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you are unable to attend the Market DeLight 2022 and you cancel your site in writing before the 6th of June 2022, you will be entitled to a full refund.

 

If you cancel after 20th of June 2022 you will not be entitled to any refund as all program and site maps will have been produced.

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Applications must be submitted online, unless by prior arrangement.

  2. Preference will be given to residents of the 2480 postcode and stall holders who meet our selection criteria (see above).

  3. If you are selling any food product you must have a Lismore City Council Food Permit and provide a copy of this to LightnUp Inc. Council phone number 02 66250500 for more information.

  4. You must provide LightnUp Inc. with a copy of current Public Liability Insurance for the stall, provided during the application process. 

  5. We will not accept unhealthy, mass-produced imported goods, offensive items or goods that pose a risk to our environment and health.

  6. Stallholders must use environmentally friendly packaging, no plastic bags, cups or straws. 

  7. Agree to remove ALL your waste, including wastewater, from the stall site at the end of the festival.

  8. You must abide by WH&S regulations and requirements set out by LightnUp Inc. and Lismore City Council.

  9. Stalls must ensure all electrical equipment is tagged. All stalls will be checked by our electrician and market coordinators prior to trading.

  10. Stalls requiring power must bring tagged 25m & 10m outdoor extension cords to connect to the nearest distribution board.

  11. Only commercial cooking equipment is to be on site. Ensure all Gas appliances are AGA approved for use in a commercial setting, gas bottles to be positioned outside of marquees.

  12. Stalls must be decorated with your own lanterns and lights.

  13. All stalls will operate for the full event. Please ensure you have adequate staff to look after your stall for these hours.
