The day's activities begin at 12 noon when the Market delight opens with a fabulous array of delicious regional food, arts & crafts and some pop-up shops from local CBD businesses.
freedom of entry parade
1.30pm - 2.30pm
Soldiers from the Lismore based 41st Battalion, Royal New South Wales Regiment, will conduct a Freedom of Entry Parade into the Lismore CBD on 22 June 2024 as a part of the lantern festival
kids fest
12pm - 4.30pm
Enjoy fun and games with Northern Rivers community groups & organisations,
there will be activities, street performers, jumping castle and lots more fun..
The Summerland Bank will be bringing along their giant street games!
They will also be facilitating the Lantern Decorating stall so you can join in the parade!

wonderful collection of Lantern Parade memorabilia and audio visual displays.

and Festival Day 22nd June.
the heartbeats festival stage
12pm – 9.00pm
HeartBeats Festival Stage returns to Carrington Street, near Dragonfly Cafe.
Magenta Community Services have joined the festival team this year as lead sponsor of the popular stage throughout the day and into the evening.
Southern Cross University, also celebrating 30years, will once again sponsor the HeartBeats Festival Stage, providing light & sound, back line and the amazing Sunflower Solar Power Centre.
Southern Cross students will gain valuable work experience performing and assisting back stage.
The delightful Little Jarjums from Friends Children's Centre and friends will join Uncle Roy Gordon to do a special Acknowledgement of Country. Music and performance is drawn from the wealth of talent here on the Northern Rivers.
Thank you to the Northern Rivers Conservatorium for their support over many years.

the pitts family circus & community stage

The fabulous Pitts Family Circus will be here to enthrall you!
Be entranced by spectacular acrobatics! Sword swallowing children!
Baby balancing! Human Pyramids and more...
With humble beginnings 15 years ago as a duo act doing a small street theatre show
The Pitts have now toured the world seven times and grown into a charming family circus -
they now have three young children - that is popular with crowds wherever they appear.
The stage will also host dance groups from around the region and the world with other surprise acts to entertain you before the lantern parade.
The Community Stage and Streets Program is supported by Lismore City Council’s Business Activation Plan

5.30pm - 6.30pm
The fabulous Lanterneers assemble in Magellan Street outside the Library and depart through the Heart of the City to Magellan Street, Market Street and along Victoria Street and into Riverside Park.

the fiery finale
6.30pm -7.30pm
Yesterday Today Tomorrow
Set in the gentle slopes of the Lantern Parade's traditional home of Riverside Park.
Bring along blankets and cushions to sit on the grass. Camp chairs kept to the top of the slope.
We will have some gentle pyrotechnics, and a big bonfire.
