About the event

The Northern Rivers Conservatorium and Southern Cross University are joining musical forces once again to present the Heartbeats Festival Stage at this year’s very special 25th birthday celebrations for the Lismore Lantern Parade.

The Heartbeats Festival stage will be nestled behind the Con in the heart of the Lismore CBD hosting performances into the Quad, Lismore’s Creative Playground from 10am to 9pm.

We all know and love Lismore as an eclectic, creative and inclusive community and the Heartbeats Festival Stage will showcase performances from local musicians and dancers, including students from the Con and Southern Cross University, everything from folk to hip hop to jazz and Indigenous dance to flamenco.

A special performance by this year’s festival premier guests Moorambilla Voice’s high school Maxed OUT company is part of the 2019 program. This energetic and dynamic ensemble has at its heart the discipline and power of Taiko, the strength and grace of contemporary dance, and the beauty of voice in flight.

Lismore’s very own favourite lads The Button Collective (which features graduates from the Con and Southern Cross University) are this year’s headline act - they’ll have you stomping your feet while your heart races to their very own blend of spicy and spirited bluegrass. River FM will be broadcasting a live feed for the entire program.
